The American 2-door Deluxe sedan was the least expensive AMC offering for 1962. It was popular with fleet buyers -- especially the Bell Telephone Company. Economy-minded motorists also found it to be a good choice, one reason being that it possessed the tried-and-true flat-head 6 cylinder engine, which had been winner of numerous Pure Oil Economy Runs.
