The 1967 AMC Rebel was a totally new automobile, introduced to replace and to update the mid-sized Classic series. The Rebel was built on an entirely new chassis, and featured a completely new body design and a stiffer suspension, which provided noticeably better handling.In addition, the Rebel was powered by the new 343 cid V-8 engine, which was over one hundred pounds lighter than its predecessor, the popular 327 cid V-8. Both of these high-performance engines were designed and built by AMC.
