The 1968 Javelin was AMC's first "pony car" and was intended to compete head-to-head with the Ford Mustang. Equipped with a 280 hp 343 cid V-8, it was a strong match for the competition.The Javelin came in only one body style -- a 2-door hardtop coupe with bucket seats and a full array of performance options.
