Priced at under $3,000, the SC/Rambler 2-door hardtop came with a 315 hp 390 cid V-8 and Hurst 4-speed. Fresh off the showroom floor, the SC/Rambler was capable of a 14.34 second quarter mile at 98 mph.The SC/Rambler came with two special paint schemes, and the two different production runs of the car can be easily identified because of this. (Pictured here is the "A" paint scheme.) The initial production limit of only 500 was quickly expanded to meet the high demand among race drivers, who had no trouble recognizing the potential of this powerful lightweight.
