1977 AMC Pacer wagon One-year body style. First year of the wagon and last year with the flat hood. All original except recovered front seats, new carpet, new wheels and tires (close copies of those from a ‘74 AMC Javelin). The wider tires make a better-looking vehicle. Original wheels and tires included in sale. We got the car in 2005 from Eastern Washington state (a very dry area). It ran well, but we planned to replace the engine and auto trans with a ‘98 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L engine (EFI, electronic ignition) and 5sp transmission. All the parts (that I know of) are accumulated for this conversion, and come with the car, along with lots of extra parts (some from 1978 pacer sedan – and you can have a pile of Cherokee parts, too, if you want them) and all available literature including factory manuals. Factory options include original AM/FM radio, “woodgrain” exterior, roof rack, and tilt steering wheel. The dash is great, but other interior plastic shows “frosting”. The door fit / panel fit is excellent indicating no previous damage. The driver door lock seems to be loose. Other than our initial first year work, (upholstery, wheels and finding Jeep components) the car has been sitting. It will take some attention before starting and running but it is remarkably straight, rust free, complete and in very good condition. $5800.
