Here is a photo of a 65 Marlin
ser#
is 4100022 owned by Gordon & Jeanne Tobin of Castleton,Vermont. The
car is equipped with 327-4v ,auto on the column, bucket seats,
pb[discs],
ps. Gordon found the car buried on top of a mountain in VT. The
owner
couldn't drive anymore, but instead of selling the car he buried it on
his farm under logs and other junk. He had a doorknob stuck in the
trunk
lock, a stove poker bolted to the hood latch and red reflectors in the
spinner holes on the hubcaps. Luckily he saved the spinners and hood
ornament.
The car had only 50,000 miles when it was found. Gordon has only
changed
the timing gears and rebuilt the carb .The engine runs like a top and
the
Marlin has 76,000 since 1995. Gordon can be reached via email: Gordon

In October of 1998 Kevin
&
Jennifer Wright went to the My Classic Car show in Evansville,
Indiana.
They saw a few AMC cars there and started talking about how nice it
would
be to have their own AMC car again. They heard about Jim Webb's AMC
Classic
Auto Parts and went to look at a few of his AMC cars he had for sale.
They
looked at a Javelin, AMX and Ambassador but they were not what they
really
wanted. They walked into a different part of the building and there it
was a, 1965 Marlin, Sea Side Aqua and Frost White exterior and two tone
green interior. It has a 287 V8, automatic, with power steering and
power
brakes. As soon as they saw it, they knew they wanted it. After
buying
the car, on the 30 hour drive home they received so many looks and
thumbs
up that it was unbelievable. Kevin nad Jen took it to a body shop to
have
some body work done and a new paint job, and some mechanical work. They
have taken the Marlin to quite a few shows in the last several years,
and
have been very fortunate to win quit a few plaques and trophies. But
they
say the most fun of all is talking to all the people that stop by to
look
at the car. Kevin can be reached via email: Kevin

This
is Kim and Jill Bergs 1965 one color (Seaside Light Aqua) Rambler
Marlin. Equipped with the 287 2bbl, column automatic this 44000
original mile Marlin was a great find. Kim writes "It is a very nice
specimen, only the headliner allows it to show its age." Kim and
Jill decided to leave the car completely original to them ( the initial
owner had the radio delete panel replaced with a x-brand radio/cassette
player. Oh well. For contact information see Kim and Jills

This is a photo
of Wendy and Russell Dutcher's 1965 Rambler Marlin, 287 Cu.
in., automatic. This Marlin is from Wyoming and the Dutchers beleive it
always has been a Wyoming car. They say "it runs incredibly well"
(of coarse, it's a Rambler) and "has absolutely no rust on it."
They want to have it re-painted as it has plenty of chips and it is
faded over the years. For 40 year old paint, it still looks
pretty good. The Dutchers can be
reached via email: Wendy and Russell, and
would love to hear from other Rambler owners.

This
picture is of Stan Kelly's favorite Rambler (he has 22!), however, he
loves them all. This is a 1965 Rambler Marlin (Antiqua Red and
Classic Black). Stan purchased it on June 17, 1973 at the ripe old age
of 16. He still has the car and
drives it regularly. It has attended a number of AMCRC
meets including the 2005 AMCRC National Meet in Sacramento, the
2001 AMCRC National, the 1999 AMCRC meet in Ocean Shores, and number of
annual Ocean Shore and AMC Rendevous. Stan has logged approx 300K
miles in the 33 years he has owned this Marlin. It's a very nice driver
and shows quite well, but it usually doesn't win best of show, however,
it does win a lot
of long distance awards. Stan is president of the Pacific Gold Rush
Ramblers and has been involved with AMCRC for about 12 years. For
more information on Stan, his cars, or just to chat Ramblers, click on
the picture of his car on the right.

Ray
Rotuna's wife Judy was responsible for the purchase of their 1965
Rambler Marlin. It was her Christmas present to him a few years
ago. During the bidding process, Ray's regular monthly Hemmings
Motor News arrived to their home, and as he was leafing through the
auction section he noticed a 1965 Red Marlin listed. Coincidentally the
write up on that Marlin was very similar to the seller’s on EBay.
It didn’t take much investigation to discover that it was truly the
same car! The auction ended, the reserve not me, no one purchased
the Marlin. Ray contacted the seller, worked out their best deal,
had the Marlin inspected by a professional shop, confirmed the purchase
with his wife’s blessing, and contracted to have it shipped in from the
mid-west. The day it arrived, they were not displeased! The
Red Rambler Marlin was quite the car with 38,000 miles and in almost
perfect condition. With the exception of incorrect shocks and a
few burnt out light bulbs, it was absolutely beautiful. The 232
Six runs out perfectly. The power brakes are a plus and manual
steering is no problem.
Ray says "the memories fly as we go about to car shows and outings, as
1965 had both of us in high school. It is a true joy to own both
a 1959 Rambler Rebel Cross Country Wagon and the 1965 Rambler
Marlin. Magnificent cars in their own class!"

John Boksz is a huge AMC
enthusiast
from Baltimore MD. John owns a 1982 and 1983 Eagle wagon, (2) 1966
Marlins
(One he drove to Kenosha 2002 over 800 miles each way) and a 1965
Classic
convertible. If that's not enough AMCs in one family how about
Johns
brother Joe. Joe is also an AMCRC member and owns a 1982 Eagle
sport
wagon, a 1960 Rambler Custom and a 1967 Ambassador convertible. My
local
dealership would have been pretty hard pressed to come up with this
many

Joe and Peggy Howard are the 4th
owners of
this 1966 Marlin. They own and drive several AMC cars and have
always
liked the smooth lines of the Marlin “Sport Fastback” design.
Marlins
were only made for 3 years: 1965, 66, and 67 in limited numbers.
Joe found this Marlin in Ontario Canada where it had been well cared
for
by the previous owners and brought it to New Hampshire. This
reconditioned
Marlin runs, drives, and rides great. It has the original black
vinyl
roof, vinyl upholstery and carpets. The exterior has been
refinished
in the original factory paint color, Marquessa Mauve, an unusual
color.
It is equipped with a 327 4v V-8, Automatic with console shift, Bucket
Seats, AM/FM Radio, Turbocast Wheel Covers, and many other
options.

Johan
bought this 1967 Marlin from Lewis & Kay Brown in Orbisonia
Pennsylvania in 1997. The car is a low mileage car (57,000 miles) and
it's
in very good condition. It was repainted some 15 years ago in the
original color scheme. There had been four US owners before Johan
purchased it. This is one of two 1967 Marlins in Sweden and it gets a
lot of attention whenever it's taken it out for a ride. The car was
purchased new at Clearwater Rambler in Clearwater Florida
on 10-16-1967. Factory price was $ 2963. The car is equipped with
a 155 bhp 232 2bbl six, and
column shift automatic. It has power steering and a after market under
dash air conditioning unit. Johan uses this Marlin mainly as a show
and cruise car and he loves to take it
for a ride just for fun. Johan says "It's a great road car and you can
go 70
mph, hour after hour with out getting tired, and it has great gas
mileage too". This past summer Johan drove his brother in law and his
bride to their wedding in the Marlin. Sure beats a Limo!!
